Danish housing underwent massive expansion in the 1960s and 1970s, when 450,000 single-family homes were built. Through visits and interviews with 12 homeowners who have generously shared their experiences, this book challenges dismissive attitudes toward these "parcel houses" and their neighbourhoods.
Far from uniform, colour images show mid-century Danish design in its original habitat, coveted by vintage shops and the trends of today. Supplemented by reflective essays, the work advocates for thoughtful development of these neighbourhoods to meet future needs while preserving their cultural-historical significance.
